Three Bears

Last Friday, we went camping with Erica's mom and sisters at Three Bear's Camp near Sussex, New Brunswick. We enjoyed a great few days as everyone came together. There was more sunshine than rain!

Conversations

As we prepare for our return to Kenya, we stopped for a brief interview with our friend Andrew Myers, communication manager for the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches, to discuss our experiences on home assignment and changing roles within Canadian Baptist Ministries. We want to share our appreciation to Andrew for allowing us to share this here on our blog.

First PodCast "Daddy and Tristan"

We are testing out some new podcast options for the blog and thought some of the Lost fans out there might enjoy this ten minute debate between Aaron and Tristan on the question "Who was the best character on the TV series Lost?"

Hope to have more Podcasts in the future with interviews in Africa.

Let us know what you think.

Fly Fishing with Grampy

One of our highlights of our time on the Island was a fly fishing trip with Grampy on the Morrell River. We went to some of his favourite fishing holes near Indian Bridge. No Salmon caught this day, but we still had a great time as Grampy showed Tristan the ropes.

The Land of Anne

PEI is famous for its beautiful sand dune beaches and red cliffs, its rolling patch work of potato fields, and of course Anne of Green Gables, the fictional creation of Lucy Maud Montgomery.

What is a trip to the Island without paying homage to this local literary character! Even Regis and Kelly, who visited PEI during our first week of vacation for the morning show, got their red braids and straw hats on. We had fun at the Gate Way Village, near the Confederation Bridge, where we got "Anned"!

Basin Head

Walking down to Basin Head Beach... so beautiful

While on the island, we had the pleasure of staying at Basin Head near Souris on the Eastern tip of Prince Edward Island. Two of the big highlights of Basin Head are the "Singing Sands" that squeak when you walk on the beach, and the bridge over the channel that is a draw for jumping.

We want to share a BIG THANK YOU to the Ching family for the wonderful gift of being able to stay at their cottage. If you are ever looking for a great getaway on PEI, we can't recommend enough the "Holiday Haven" Cottage at Basin Head -- Wow!

Home Assignment 2010

Over the first weekend of July, we completed our home assignment tour with some wonderful gatherings in Bath, Jacksonville and Sussex Corner. We are so thankful to all of our friends who made this time of visiting and speaking about the ministry of Canadian Baptist Ministries in Africa so great!
