Breakfast in Bakuyu

BREAKFAST in BAKUYU

education centre in Garissa District, Kenya.

This past week, our CBM colleagues Yattani Gollo, William Wako and Geoffery Mwita participated in the launch of an early childhood school and feeding program in the village of Bakuyu. Through partnership with a local hospital and the community leadership, CBM is engaging the people of Bakuyu in food for work relief projects, health clinics, targeted supplementary food rations, basic public health education, and emergency feeding.

Our work in Bakuyu is one part of the wider ministry of integral mission that CBM is committed to in Kenya's North Eastern Province (NEP). Together with local church and community-based organizations, God's love and compassion are being lived out in word and deed.

Please continue to uphold these communities in your prayers. Insecurity remains a major concern for the people of NEP, as attacks by the militant Islamist group El Shabbab continue to plague Kenya. We are thankful for both Muslim and Christian leaders who are stepping forward in solidarity to foster respect, peace and mutuality.

Hand washing, safe sanitation and hygiene are of crucial for the health of children and communities. Education and support around this is a major need in Garissa District. You can read more on this issue in our latest update letter.

  1. It is hard for us to really grasp the desperate conditions in NEP and I suppose many other places. Thanks for helping to keep us informed of how thankful we should be and how to pray for others.
    God Bless and stay safe.
    Praying daily for you
