This past week, Erica and I have been in Rwanda with our friends and colleagues serving with the Association of Rwanda Baptist Churches (AEBR). In Rwanda, Canadian Baptist Ministries is currently partnering with both the AEBR and the Central Africa Baptist Association (CBCA) which also has established churches in the Lake Kivu area of the country.
2014 will be an important year as the AEBR moves into the implementation of key reforms that will strengthen the governance and financial management of the denomination, crucial areas for the long term health and sustainability of the church. At the same time, the AEBR has recognized the importance of deepening the spiritual maturity and vitality of congregations. We are excited to have our colleague Darrell Bustin working with the church to strengthen the area of spiritual formation among congregations as part of our emphasis on Integral Mission as holistic transformation.
In Prayer:
Please remember our friends Darrell and Laura Lee Bustin, as they are working with the AEBR in developing initiatives with their evangelism department and supporting the ministry of global discipleship. We are very excited for a new cell group ministry that Darrell is developing with AEBR director of evangelism.
Please remember Jonathan and Janice Mills, CBM’s most recently appointed global field staff. The Mills will be joining us in Kenya and Rwanda this March with two of their sons, Calvin and Robert, in preparation for relocating to Rwanda this coming summer to serve with the AEBR.
Please pray for the health of Darrell who has been suffering from back pain. We are also praying for our friends Gato and Anne Marie Munyamasoko and Andre and Terese Sibomana, both Anne Marie and Terese are recovering from recent health issues.
