Emma's first day of her senior year at Rosslyn Academy
On Tuesday, our girls returned to Rosslyn Academy for the start of a new school year. Ava has moved up into Middle School and she is very excited for the new classes, sports, and of course having a locker.
It is hard for us to believe that Emma is now a senior. It feels like yesterday that she was starting out at Rosslyn's kindergarten, but here we are twelve year's later. Along with all of her classes and catching up with friends, Emma is in the fall play (starting rehearsals tonight for Noose's Off) and she is the vice-chair of the national honour society. It will be a big year!
Ava ready for grade six!
Now that we are in the full swing of August, Erica is wrapping up the final details for Kamp Tumaini and we are finalizing all our mid-year admin work for staff and programming. We are very thankful for the great team that we are working with both in Africa and back in the CBM office in Mississauga.
Thank you for keeping our family and the ministries of CBM and our partners in your prayers.

Also in Prayer
Please join us in praying for the current emergency response to the Ebola outbreak in North Kivu, DRC. As of today, 36 people have died from the outbreak that was reported on August 3. Beyond the 43 reported cases, the ministry of health has shared that health workers are investigating an additional 46 cases. Through the support of Canadian Baptist Churches and individuals, CBM is contributing to the prevention response being led by the CBCA, our local church partner.
We remember the work of the Faith Evangelical Baptist Churches of South Sudan. In conversation with our friend Rev. Saphano Riak Chol earlier today, he shared that the recent peace talks in Addis have not led to any substantial change. Last night a family member of Rev. Chol was gunned down in violence in the Malakal IDP camp. We pray for his family and for the people caught in the middle of this senseless conflict.
Erica and the urban Muslim Ministry team are getting ready for a large water filter distribution in the slum areas of Eastern Nairobi. Please join us in praying for a safe distribution, and for the families that will be welcoming our teams into their homes. We are so thankful for the generous contributions that make this ministry of providing clean drinking water possible. May the love of Christ we witnessed in word and deed.
