Tristan and Emma

Rosslyn Academy Choral Concert

Last evening, we had the joy of attending Middle School and High School choir concert at Rosslyn Academy. Tristan sang in the Grade 7 & 8 choir, under the direction of Mr. Mark Statler. It was a great evening!

September 2011 - Family Fun

BROWN'S CHEESE PLEASE!

Tristan at the Brown's Cheese farm in Tigoni, Kenya

Last weekend, we had a delightful time with friends visiting the Brown's family cheese business outside of Nairobi. It was a fun Sunday visiting with new friends and learning about how cheese is made.

The Brown's Cheese Company was started a generation ago, as the Brown family started making cheese for themselves and for gifts. Soon their friends were wanting to purchase it, and from a small attachment to the farm house, a booming business grew.

The carrot and the stick...

Today was Emma's final swim meet for the 2010/2011 school year in Nairobi. She had a lot of fun with her team mates at the meet hosted by Rosslyn Academy.

Emma did fantastic in both her 50 m freestyle
and 50 m backstroke races

Way to go Emma!

Meanwhile at home.... an unexpected visitor landed in!

They say that there are basically two ways
to encourage an unwanted visitor to leave!

"The Carrot"

(Emma whistling and sweet talking the frightened bird)

... and "the stick!"

(No bird was harmed in this scenario,
in the end it found the open window
without the helpful assistance of our girls.)

Rosslyn Swim Meet

A Nail Biting Competition
Emma competed this weekend at a Rosslyn Academy Invitational Swimming Tournament against schools from across the city. On Saturday morning, she swam the 50 m freestyle and 50 m backstroke races. She had a lot of fun cheering on her team mates and meeting fellow swimmers from other schools.

Emma finished a very close second in her freestyle race.

Way to Go Emma!
