Project of the Month

Today we enjoyed a quiet day in Moncton, New Brunswick, connected with Erica’s mum and catching up on some email correspondence. It is hard to believe that we have already completed our first month back in Canada. Time is flying by!

This week, we will be travelling back to Saint John to speak at Main Street Baptist Church, and then we are off to Nova Scotia. For the rest of June, we will be sharing with churches and groups throughout the Annapolis Valley and South Shore. We will post our Nova Scotia Schedule on the blog for anyone interested in coming to see us while we are in your area.

Meanwhile, we are thrilled to share that CBM has selected both the ministry in Kenya’s North Eastern Province and the Urban Ministry in Eastleigh, as their project of the month for June. Please be praying for these ministries, especially as the tension and unrest within the region has a direct impact upon Muslim and Christian relations. You can learn more about how to add your support to this work by visiting the Canadian Baptist Ministries website through the link below.

Finally, we want to thank Marilyn Smith for sharing this fantastic quote on poverty from Nelson Mandela.

"Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man made, and it can be overcome  and eradicated by the actions of human beings. Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice. It is the protection of a fundamental human right, the right to dignity and human life."
-Nelson Mandela
