African Christian Church & Schools

Bishops and Christian Leaders from across Kenya
gather to pray for Rt. Rev. Maina

African Christian Church and Schools
Installation Service of Rt. Rev. Joseph Maina Macharia as Moderator

This past Sunday, Erica and I travelled to the ACC&S cathedral in Thika with our colleagues Wayne and Maureen Morgan for the induction of the new executive leadership of the church. Our friend, and outgoing moderator, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Julius Karanja Kimani presided over the service that brought together Christian leaders from across Kenya, including the guest speaker Rt. Rev. Dr. David Gathanju the moderator of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa’s General Assembly.

With Maureen & Wayne

Over the past few years, we have been blessed to get to know the ACC&S and many of the church’s leaders. Rev. Joseph Maina, the new moderator, and Rev. Jeremiah Ngumo Kiguru, the new general secretary, have been good friends and classmates of Aaron in the CBM/Carey Theological College doctoral program in Kenya. We were also delighted to discover that Rev. Julius Kimani, who was a part of the certificate of ministry program that she was with in Nairobi in 2004, has been elected as the new deputy general secretary.

We continue to pray for the ACC&S as the church seeks to share the love and hope of Christ through word and deed in their community.
