The BIG Month!

Moving toward Graduation!!

At the end of May, our son Tristan graduates from Rosslyn Academy High School.

This month is a big one with graduation activities and all of the end of school year events for our family. It is a time of great celebration and the anticipation of transitions ahead.

Tristan presenting his senior seminar in the Rosslyn auditorium

The Senior Sem is a right of passage for Rosslyn students who are expected to conduct an independent research project during their senior year. Each senior has two teachers that act as supervisors as they complete their research and present it as a paper and then a seminar followed by a question period.

Tristan focused his senior seminar on the rise and fall of the television laugh track and its relationship to generational shifts in the way North Americans relate to popular entertainment.

His presentation was both informative and delightful!

Celebrating Emma's Induction into the National Honour Society of Kenya

We are also very glad that Aaron's mom, Marie, is able to be with us for the big month. Following the performances of Annie, we were all able to celebrate Emma being chosen and inducted into the National Honour Society (NHS) an organization that works to promote character and service among the top academic students in Kenya.

As part of NHS, Emma and her peers will be involved in the organization and leadership of community service projects for her school.

Along with the graduation parties, services, and convocation, the month of May is full of choir concerts, voice recitals, the Roscars Award Show, birthdays, and Mother's Day.

We are so proud of our kids and the great group of friends that they have journeyed with through Rosslyn. Among all the fun, we know that this is also a month of saying good-bye. We certainly covet your prayers as our hearts are filled with joy and sadness.
