Party in Eastleigh!
Members of the Iftin literacy classes at the close of a party this past Friday at the Eastleigh Community Centre. We had a great week in Eastleigh with the Doerksen family, who have embraced the members of Iftin and the Eastleigh community. Our friend, Atalie, joined us well. The Iftin ladies had tons of fun dressing us up in Somali outfits and teaching us how to dance. We have some great dance pictures that we'll share when we have a bit more time.

ReplyDeleteWe have appreciated the way the Doerksen family has jumped in with both feet and shared so freely with the Iftin women and their families. It will be a tearful good-bye!
It is amazing how much can happen within such a brief time.
We are preparing for a number of more volunteers coming throughout 2011. We pray that each of these groups will have such an experience and positive impact.
