Swim hard, swim strong!

Emma in her freestyle race
taken by Mark Doerksen

We haven't had much time this week to post anything on our blog, but we did want to share this great photo of Emma during her swim meet this past week at Rosslyn Academy. It was a nice break to cheer Emma on at the pool side with the Doerksen family who are volunteering with us in Eastleigh over the next two weeks. Emma is improving so much in all of her strokes. She came in third place in her freestyle race, even though is was among the youngest in her age category -- way to go Emma!

It has also been a moving week for us as we've spend time with women and families who are also pushing against the stream. Iftin continues to grow as new students join the English literacy class, the self help groups and the new Kiswahali language classes. Tomorrow we are planning a cultural dance and party for the Iftin members to come together with the Doerksen family and welcome the new members. Pray that this will be a time of deep encouragement for the new women as they have opportunity to see the bigger movement that they have become a part of as they meet the other members of Iftin.
