Looking Back on May

Visiting with Anita Carline and Greta Gilmore
at Smithtown Baptist Church

Sunday evening in Smithtown, New Brunswick

Like most of May, this was a full weekend with ABW Convention in Moncton and then visiting with Brunswick Street Baptist in Fredericton as well as Smithtown Baptist on Sunday. Although we are feeling a little road weary, we have fully enjoyed our times of visiting with family, friends and churches. We had a fantastic time with the people of Brunswick Street and appreciated the encouragement of Keith, Rosslyn and Pastor Nancy who ministered to us in the afternoon. Good things are happening in this church and pastors Terry, Greg, Jody, Nancy and Ralph are quite an amazing team!

On Sunday evening while we were visiting in Smithtown, Emma and her buddy Lauren Myers started the night outdoors in a tent. While we admired their bravery (Yes Nancy, they were camping in May!), the layer upon layer of sleeping bags and blankets weren't enough to keep these snuggle bugs warm. By the time we returned from the church, the girls were looking back to the warm house with envy and before long were tucked back into their beds.

Looking back, May began in Prince Edward Island and quickly moved us into New Brunswick where we travelled to many communities from Moncton to GrandFalls. We want to share a BIG thanks to everyone who has graciously opened their homes and hearts to us along the journey. Our blog certainly hasn't capture even a tenth of all the adventures and people who have made this such a memorable time. In this short time, we've already concluded that we need a longer stay during our next home assignment to be able to slow down. Our children have been incredible with all the moving, but we know that this hasn't been easy. Ava is still asking us "When we are going to get to Canada" -- I guess with all the moving around it still hasn't felt like we've "arrived".

On June 1, we leave New Brunswick and begin the Nova Scotian leg of our journey. We are looking forward to seeing many friends along the way. This Sunday we will be speaking in both Middleton and Nictaux. Please keep us in prayer as we travel the roads and take a few days of down time with our kids.
